Window still visible during screen share

Steps to take if a hidden window is still appearing in your screen share.

1. Check the Cloakly toggle

Make sure the toggle for that window is active (green) in the Cloakly window list. If the app was restarted since you last hid it, you will need to re-enable the toggle.

2. Update Windows

The window exclusion API works best on Windows 10 version 2004 or later. Open Windows Update and install any pending updates.

3. Update your screen sharing app

Older versions of Zoom, Teams, or Discord may use legacy capture methods. Update to the latest version.

4. Restart Cloakly as administrator

Right-click the Cloakly shortcut and select "Run as administrator". Some capture sources require elevated permissions to be intercepted.

5. Contact support

If the issue persists, contact us at support@cloakly.app with details about your Windows version and which screen sharing app is affected.
